SMALL WORLD.

View the slideshow for a few images of miniature paintings, either one at a time or hit the 'play' button at the bottom. You may click on the image for a pop-up version as well. Or, below the slide show the grid of the images here are also supplied with 'pop-up' capabilities.

The standard for miniature paintings, as set by the Association of Miniaturist Artists, is 25 inches or less for the surface area or 1/6 of life-size. Human heads, for instance, should be about 1.5 inches tall.

I was told by the AMA that I should switch to a different surface than canvas as they feel it detracts from the quality of the painting and thus would not be worthy to judge in competition. So, there you go.

Hey, I'll paint on anything that will hold still for awhile.

Pictured here is La Galerita, the smallest art gallery in the world (applied to Guinness Book- still unregistered), which displays my miniature paintings for special occasions. Not including the 'grounds' surrounding this unvast complex, it is 2 x 2 ft. Available for social functions.
